Why I am running:
I am running because this position has not been contested for the last two elections and I am tired of leaving most of my ballot blank. I believe I can win and do a great job representing the people of the district.
I didn’t understand why my town, Andover, had trouble balancing its budget. Once I did the research, I saw the state was a large part of the problem. I want to help the taxpayers in my town and in the other towns and the city of my district.
I can’t stand to see the government waste money. Even worse I can’t take being represented by an arrogant legislature that is oblivious to the concerns of the regular person.
Why I am a Republican:
I don't like the direction of our Democrat dominated state government, and it is definitely going the wrong way here in Massachusetts.
When trying to change course of a big slow ship, you have to turn the wheel hard in one direction just to get it to move a little.
In another state I might be an independent. In Massachusetts the independents have not been a key bloc because there hasn’t been choice. Hopefully in 2010 though, with many races contested, they will be. When I talk to many independents they align with what most consider Republican thinking.
